hAppY hAllOwEEn!

Well this week has been moving in slow motion, especially because we are on a week count down for little Mr. #2 to bless us with his presence (via C-section on Tuesday the 3rd!) and I have just been draggin' my little...? (not sure if little was the right word there) behind all week. I wake up about 7 a.m. with the little guy and then about 10 a.m. I'm ready to go back to bed while he sits on the foot of my bed and watches Sesame Street... then we get up around 11:30 a.m. and I make us lunch and then down for naps from 1 to 3 p.m. SO TIRED! and uncomfortable - I am trying to keep a positive attitude and enjoy these last few days with this little guy thumpin' around in my belly though... so precious!

Amuma (Pauly's Basque Great Grandma) mailed him some Halloween treats. A coloring book and crayons, a Halloween Pencil, and a really cute Casper the Ghost shirt. She colored the envelope like a big spider... she is so cute.

Tonight he is going to be Batman and go around with Daddy to a couple of neighbors and friends houses to Trick-or-Treat - so hopefully I'll have some great pics to post tomorrow of that fiasco!

Not sure...

Well... you all are probably thinking... What? What has she been thinking long and hard about...what is she not sure about?

I've been thinking about consolidating this blog and my other blog which is called herhousehold for a while and with our new little Mr. coming (via c-section on Tuesday, Nov. 3) so quickly! I've decided I am going to figure out a way to do it! For the longest time I was trying to post on both and it was kind of fun for a while but I think I'll really enjoy posting on just one blog and include family pics over there as well.

Originally, herhousehold was kind of supposed to be like recipes, housecleaning tips, financial budget tips, little family event ideas, encouraging stories and scripture and so on... I think what I'll do is combine them and it will be a combination of all things - which will be more manageable for me (soon to be mother of 2) and much enjoyable for all my readers... So for now, consider this a "heads up" and after little Mr. man is born - I'll do one last post and direct everyone to herhousehold after that...

So yes, Dos will be arriving no later than Tuesday, Nov. 3 via c-section. If he happens to come before then I would be hugely surprised because... as in the way my husband and now my doctor says it ... my cervix is "LOCKED DOWN!" except I don't do it as well as my husband because he does it in a Sean Connery accent... he's a mess! I feel so blessed for every one's encouragement through this pregnancy. You all are truly blessings!

We sure can't wait to see this little guy, my mom is coming to Boise on Sunday for a whole week... I'm so spoiled! Pauly is going to have such a blast with his Mimi and Papa to himself and that makes me so happy! It will take me a while to get on and post some pics but I will do it as soon as I can. Your prayers would be much appreciated! Love you all, Sami Jo

Goody Goody Gumdrops!

Well I am so thrilled to announce that as of Nov. 3rd our little man will for sure be born. The plan is if I happen to go naturally between now and then that is great but come around to Tuesday morning and he hasn't came ole doc is going to do a c-section.

Big brother was a 32 labor ending up in finally having a c-section after "pure he**"
from Tuesday at 2 p.m. till he was born at noon on Thursday... Ugggh! My doctor is not going to let me go through that again and actually it is not recommended... so there really is not much of a chance this little stinker will come before Tuesday but if he does we won't stop him *wink*wink*

Till then, I'm just taking it pretty easy, cleaning, and preparing for the laid up couple weeks after. I did pretty awesome with my c-section with Little Guy and was up and walking around the next morning. AND those nurses were brutal!!! They were demanding I pee that next morning and I was pretty sure that nurse was on crack! BUT she was a genius and had the coolest trick... if you are ever trying to go pee when you are in the hospital after you have a surgery do this! Sit down on the toiler and have a cup of water with a straw and all you have to do is well... think about it for a second and if it doesn't work then blow through a straw into the water in the cup and IMMEDIATELY you will go! Is that genius or what! I could of kissed the nurse that told me that!

I'm a little freaked out but over all I'm just super excited to see our little Mr. and can't wait to bring him home, get on my road to recovery and start our life as Family of Four!!!... well and 1/2 (counting Dapher Doo)...

I'm so blessed as my mom is totally coming for the whole week! Yay!

We still haven't shared his name with anyone except for Big Brother and even when we turn around and ask him what the baby's name is he says..... Nemo.... Cars.... Buzz!!!!! Cracks us up! He will even tell you that is his own name. He and the doctor got into a little recalling movie quote bit at the dr's office today and there was one point that the ole doc was yelling Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! and Big brother was just about rollin' with laughter! (I really hope he doesn't start saying that... Mama and Daddy would put the Kabosh! to that real quick!)

I just want to say again how much I sure appreciate all of your kind words and encouragement during my pregnancy and am not afraid to ask for any prayers you can send our way during this next week! Thank you loves!

I will be posting here and there this next week and it will probably take me a little while after to post some pics but I won't forget you guys!

Evenings at the Melton Home...

Usually evenings at the Melton Home consists of lots of playing with the Rugby Ball... Pauly is getting really good at catching it and he loves to play with his daddy! It is pretty funny because when they are playing catch... out of the corner of his eye he watches me to see if I'm watching it... And daddy being the pure stinker he is usually pelts him with it when he isn't "watching the ball" because God knows we are trying to train him for the championships NOW! It's pretty funny - Pauly like showing off for me... I love it!Oh Lord! I'm a dork! Pauly brought these little racket thingies out of his toy box the other night and I put mine on my head because we didn't have a ball to play with so why not accessorize.... ha!! (btw - I am wearing a shirt --it is all about comfort right now!)But look how cute Pauly looks... okay we are both dorks!

Everything will be okay! Mama has a potato peeler!

So... the other day I was attempting to make Shepherd's Pie with ground beef and I was ready to get crackin' in the kitchen. I had out my potatoes, carrots and onion and went to find my potato peeler and it was NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! Knowing my husband had been doing A LOT of the cooking - I thought...well maybe it broke on him and he forgot to tell me about it. I called him up and he said he didn't know anything about it and thought it should be there somewhere. So of course I went digging through all the drawers, NOTHING, then I decided maybe it fell down behind the drawers... still nothing! I pulled the oven out! NOTHING! I went through all my cupboards thinking that one of us put away a mixing bowl/casserole dish/pan or something with that little critter in it! STILL NOTHING! So I drove myself nuts looking for it and finally decided - we'll have tacos instead...
I'm sure it is somewhere in that kitchen, unless when one of us were peeling carrots we accidentally threw it away into the garbage when we were cleaning off the cutting board or something silly like that. I have NOT gone through the toy box but little man doesn't reach up on the counter tops and take things... he just doesn't do that... yet... And just think if it finally does show up having two peelers is a... Good Thing.
So for the next couple days after the disappearance - I kept looking and looking and still NOTHING! So then yesterday, little man and I went to the grocery store and ...
bought a new one! Only $1.72 and I have my sanity back! Thank you Jesus! Used it last night to peel potatoes for our Roasted Chicken dinner... Num!And for dessert Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies...Unfortunately totally turned out mediocre :(

Tough Guy!!

Look at this! Pauly was grooving to the music at the end of Over the Hedge yesterday and he spun around and hit his face on the couch. It looks so bad! Daddy came home and doctored it up - put some antibiotic cream on it and a band aid and Pauly thought that stunk! He didn't like the band aid at all! This is what it looks like today. Poor kid! but he's tough!

21 days on the counter today!

Can't believe it! So excited about this little guy making his debut! When? I'm so anxious and wondering when he will arrive! They have scheduled me for a c-section on Nov. 5th if at that time, little man is showing signs that he needs to just come out then Doc will take him then. If not, he might just come any day now...

BOY do I feel it too! I've been really trying super hard not to be weepy and "sick of it" I just keep thinking that it isn't forever and to enjoy these last few weeks with just me and Pauly and this time I can rest and not yet juggling two little guys.

My body is so DONE though! My husband and I were joking around last night and I said, "Do you notice if my belly has dropped down at all?" and he said, "It all is just HUGE!"... I looked at him and said, "You really shouldn't say things like that to a pregnant lady," what a dork right! I didn't let it get to me because it was actually pretty funny and well.. he's a dude right! Men don't know about dropping, my sisters and mom/ mother in law would immediately say, Yes or No but this guy - they just don't notice those things -

but he did notice the other night when I was sitting on the edge of my chair watching television, he was like, "Wow! I can't believe how OUT there he is!" - I just gave him a look like, "Oh, I'm sick of this!" and then I grabbed a little toy Pauly has (and actually we had one when we were little) you pull the lever on the side and then whatever the arrow was pointing at in the middle is the animal sound it makes... Well, I gave him that snotty look - pulled the lever and out came this very loud MOOOOOOOO! Ben and I were laughing so hard, I started crying and Pauly was laughing along but not quite sure why. It was hysterical!

Thank you Jesus for these little moments to keep me from losing my marbles!

Praising Jesus for our Home!

Psalms 84:1-4
How lovely is your dwelling place,
O LORD Almighty!
2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar,
O LORD Almighty,
my King and my God.
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.

Pauly and his Gal Friend!

Pauly has a friend.
She is a fabulous gal friend!
We went to see her this weekend.
We had a yummy breakfast with her and her parents.
Pauly and his gal friend have a lot of things in common... like being silly!
And they like to play!
Isn't his gal friend a doll! We love her so!

Sending a little Surprise!

There is a gal that I adore. She is an amazing mama, loving wife, wonderful friend and has a heart of gold! She has a sweet little blog and you can visit it here.
She has two little girls and they are precious! The things they say are hysterical and the way that my friend writes about them will have you throwing back your head for a good belly laugh. She's a REAL gal, blogging about real things, like real family trials and triumphs, yummy recipes, family outings and everything in between.
Check her out!

She has been on my mind for a while now and I can't wait for her to receive my surprise in the mail some time this week!
Hope you enjoy girlly! xoxo, The Lady of the House

Before and After Pics of my Boys' Room!!!

Before:
(remember these should look as terrible as possible for the best shock factor... right?)

After: Purrrrrrr......

view from the door

What I did: I made the canvas initials (how I did it here), made the window streamer, I repainted the dressers the dark blue and painted the knobs white (one used to be light blue and other dark green - but were made by same company),

the baby's bedding is reused from when little guy was born, (purchased at Target)the little brown bear was mine given to me by an aunt when I was little, the ABC blocks (also on the shelf) where part of a center piece for little guy's shower, I purchased the little rubber duckies (Walmart), repainted the tiny little shelf that came from a thrift store for $3 (used to be light oak tone), these books were a gift for Dos from a little church gal at my baby shower at church and the cars where my husband's when he was little,

again I painted the canvas initials and I also painted the little canvases on the right (I copied blocks from the ABC bedding)

little guy's bedding is a quilt my grandma made my husband and I for our wedding (it has light and dark denim squares with a few personal items embroidered on it), you can barely see the side of the toy box there which was mine when I was little,

didn't these turn out fantabulous!!!? I'm not showing the full initials for Dos because his name is a secret... SSShhhhhh......

here is a little giraffe I got for little man for his first Valentine's Day and the little pillow goes with the ABC bedding,

there is little guy's trike he got from Mimi and Papa for his birthday and Poo Bear was a cousin's first and then she gave it to little man and the little red bag is packed already just in case we have a "baby emergency" - (I'm an over planner...)

I am so excited of how it all turned out and we are so thrilled to add in the little man missing very soon! Hope you enjoyed visiting our little boys' room.
Have a great weekend!
